We have forgotten

“There is a language older by far and deeper than words. It is the language of bodies, of body on body, wind on snow, rain on trees, wave on stone. It is the language of dream, gesture, symbol, memory. We have forgotten this language. We do not even remember that it exists.”

image reminds me of the old Edgar Rice Burroughs books about Tarzan.

Tarzan sees his first book and believes that the letters are small bugs that were either scared to move, or smashed.

were he right, they would fall out of the book in this manner.
